1st International Congress on Corporate Social Responsibility |
The 1st International Congress on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) took place in Badalona on July 9th 2009. The aim of the congress was to promote the adoption of textile sector best practices in areas such as human rights, workers’ rights, the environment and health and safety. Moreover, it aimed to promote and develop all other aspects that could help improve information for the consumer and product awareness when purchasing. Speakers: Anabel Dresse, Chair of the CSR of Timberland. Her talk will be on CSR. Steven A. Jesseph, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and President and CEO, of the Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) organization, one of the leading CSR organizations worldwide. He also chairs the IAF (International Apparel Federation) CSR Technical Commission. He will speak on the current state of CSR globally. Willie Beuth, Chair of the 3M Consortium for Sustainable Management. International expert on the environment. His paper deals with environmental issues. Felix Velasco Alfaro, consultant and founding member of Forética, Spain’s leading association of ESR firms and consultants. His talk will be on CSR in Spain. Manel Medina Llinás: Chair of Computer Architecture (IT security) at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). Director of esCERT-UPC, the UPC Security Team, and Director of the UPC Centre for Internet Applications (cANet-UPC). His talk will likewise be on digital CSR.
